Questions About Short Sales 🏡

What questions should a real estate agent you're interviewing for a short sale listing ask you?

One of the best ways to identify if the agent has experience completing short sales is through the questions they ask you. If you do not know what questions to ask, watching this video can help you.

What should a Real Estate Agent ask you for a Short Sale?

They should be asking you general questions in regards to your situation or tell you about the house:

  • situation

  • about the house

  • financial situation

Now I know that there may be something that you want to withhold, yet if I'm your agent - I need to understand your situation, so I know what to advise you.

Some of the questions that they should be asking you are:
How far are you on your payments?
How many loans are there?
If there are one or 2 lenders, whatever the case may be, what is causing you to have to sell this house?
What are the time frames in regards to when you have to sell?

What is your hardship? And think that you have a hardship.

I've seen people with mothers moving in. I've seen people moving out. I've seen all kinds of different scenarios where somebody previously didn't think that they had a hardship, and they found out after talking to me that they did.

Ultimately it's the bank that's going to decide whether you have a hardship or not.
