The Landlord Scam

Hi!

How did the landlord take the renter's money?

Making money off the backs of a tenant is the oldest scam in the book. The landlord owns the property while you pay his mortgage.

I remember I had a conversation with one of my good friends. He's been renting for probably like the last seven years. He owned a house with his wife before they got divorced—long story.

Do you want to keep giving your money to your landlord? Then this short video would be a good resource for you. WATCH this.

He's been renting for the last seven years. He came to me and said,

"Dan, you know, I'm thinking, should I buy a home or rent"?

I said, "Bob, here's a deal, man. It's really up to you. But, first, you have to answer this checklist:

  • What are your long-term goals?

  • How long do you think you're going to be in this area?

  • How much money do you have to be able to put as a downpayment (not that you always have to have a downpayment. There are a lot of programs where you don't even need any down payment).

And I added,

"Call me. I'll let you know about those."

These are some of the things that I was suggesting to Bob for him to understand.

Every person's position is unique, and everybody has their own goals.

Here's what I can tell you: the difference between a renter's wealth and a homeowner's wealth is tremendous! A renter's like zero and a homeowner's like I think $77,000 net worth on average throughout the country.

That's something to consider, but here's the thing - if you're not sure if you should rent, if you should buy, or if you can even buy, let me know.

Give me a call: (703) 562-1788. There’s not a nook or cranny in the area that I don’t know of.
